SecureIt Agile Model 52 Review — A Fast-Access Cabinet, Not a Fake Vault

Who this cabinet is actually for

Most “gun safes” on this site are heavy residential boxes: fireboard, gun-count marketing, a dolly, and a prayer that the doorway is 22 inches. The SecureIt Agile Model 52 is a different tool. It is an ultralight modular cabinet—about 105 pounds in SecureIt’s marketing copy, 115 pounds on the spec table—with straight-line access to six long guns up to 48.25" and a lock SecureIt calls HSFA (high-stress fast-access).

SecureIt’s listing showed $699 (marked down from $849) at our August 2026 check, in stock, ships in about three business days. That is Centurion-12 money for a completely different job: organization and speed, not two hours of fire or a UL RSC attack test.

Buy this if you want a home-defense long-gun locker you can assemble, bolt to a wall, and open with a fingerprint or a six-button code without playing Tetris. Skip it if you need fire protection, a 24-gun closet vault, or a box that survives a determined crew with tools. Pair it with a real residential safe (or a LifePod) if those jobs still exist in your house.

The numbers that matter

This is true capacity. Six slots. Not “up to 24 if you own only air rifles.”

This is not a fire safe. Say it out loud.

There is no Cool Box minute rating here. No Palusol seal. No 1,200°F lab curve. If your threat is a house fire, this cabinet is the wrong product—same sentence we use on the LifePod.

What you get instead is access geometry. CradleGrid holds barrels in a line so optics and muzzle devices do not grind against a neighbor. That is the military-armory idea SecureIt keeps selling, and it is the reason this cabinet exists.

If you need both—fast rifles and fire/theft for the collection—buy two tools. A Model 52 for the defensive battery. A Centurion, Browning, or Fort Knox for the rest.

Security posture: fast lock, thin cabinet

HSFA is a lock-speed claim, not a UL RSC listing. The new keypad is a competent electronic stack:

• Six large tactile buttons (better than a tiny 12-key pad in the dark)
• Capacitive fingerprint reader
• USB-C so a dead battery is not a locked-out morning
• Mechanical key override if electronics fail

Treat biometrics like the LifePod: enroll multiple fingers, keep the code, store override keys outside the cabinet. SecureIt will sell you a replacement lock set if you lose the keys. That is not a hobby.

The cabinet itself is light on purpose. 105–115 lbs is movable. It is also stealable and tippable. SecureIt’s own FAQ: an empty, unanchored unit can tip when the door opens. Pre-drilled holes exist because they expect you to bolt it to the wall and/or floor. Skip that step and you bought a locker with a fingerprint reader.

This is authorized-user speed against kids, guests, and grab-and-run opportunists who do not bring a truck. It is not Fort Knox Defender math.

Living with CradleGrid

The interior is the product:

• Six cradles, six stocks, straight pull
• Grid accepts more SecureIt accessories (shelves, pistol pegs, trays) without tools
• 12.25" interior depth is still a cabinet, not a walk-in—gear lives on the grid, not in a pile on the floor
• You can add a shelf and store ammo under the guns; SecureIt sells width-spanning shelves separately

Modular pitch is real: stack a Model 40 on top, or step into Twin/Quad Command kits, if the collection grows. Bolting stacked units together and to the structure is not optional in their own guidance.

Left- vs right-hand door is an order-time choice. Measure the swing before you click Standard (Right).

Installation is twenty minutes, then a drill

You do not need a discreet unmarked truck. You do need:

1. A helper for the first assembly
2. A wall or floor you are willing to put fasteners into (hardware is on you)
3. A plan for tip-over the first time the door opens empty
4. Immediate code + fingerprint enrollment, then keys stored off-site
5. A dehumidifier strategy if the cabinet lives in a damp closet—there is no fireboard, and there is also no magic moisture control

RV / apartment / office placement is the point of Slide-Lock. So is moving it when the “safe room” becomes a guest room.

How it compares

• vs Liberty Centurion 12: Centurion wins fire rating, mass, and “this is a real safe” language. Agile wins weight, true 6-gun access, and a lock you can actually use at 2 a.m. Different jobs. Many households should own the cabinet and the safe.
• vs Vaultek LifePod 20: LifePod is a portable handgun box. Agile is a stationary 6-rifle cabinet. Layer them.
• vs Agile Model 52 Pro / 52 Plus: the base 52 is the core chassis without the Pro accessory pack. If you already know you want extra organizers, skip this SKU and buy the kit you will keep.

Pricing and buying notes

$699 was the live SecureIt price against an $849 compare-at. In stock, three-day ship window, 90-day buy-it-back language on the product page. Confirm door orientation, then confirm you are buying the Model 52, not the 14, 40, or 52 Plus.

Cradle bungees are not in the box. Mounting hardware is not in the box. A shelf is not in the box. Budget those if they are part of how you will actually load it.

Bottom line

The SecureIt Agile Model 52 is an honest six-rifle fast-access cabinet: CradleGrid, HSFA keypad/biometrics, and a chassis light enough to place where a 375-pound safe will not go. It is not a fire vault and it is not a 24-gun sticker. Bolt it down, load six guns like an adult, and keep the collection safe in something that actually has a fire rating.
